GCS Weekly Warm-up (V042616)

Posted May 2, 2016

Hi my singing friends!

Wow! I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make it last week. It looks like we sang most of our repertoire!

LAST WEEK WE SANG:

  • Sun Moon Rain
  • Somewhere
  • Little Shop of Horrors
  • There’s No Business Like Show Business
  • Into the Woods
  • Both madrigals

PRACTICE TRACKS
Wondering how the heck you’re going to learn all these songs? The answer, my friends, is on the interweb. Yep, just go to www.guelphcommunitysingers.ca, find the ‘members’ tab, enter the password (gcs) and all will be revealed! Listen to those tracks a few times and you will be amazed at how prepared you will feel.

SECTIONALS
Yay! It’s almost time to do sectionals again! Next week, on May 4, at 7:30, each section will meet in different locations. Sopranos will meet in the Sanctuary, altos in the piano parlour, basses and tenors in room next to it.

CONCERT
It’s time to start thinking about all your other singing friends, family and others who might like to sing along with us at our June concert. We’re getting ready to print tickets and posters. Last year at Christmas, we sold tickets earlier than usual and that strategy was a big success! We could use some help putting up posters and finding new, creative ways to reach out and invite new people to our audience. As you know, the funds that the choir earns through fees and concert revenues go directly to music, the practice and performance venues and the talented services of Rachel and Grace. So your help in spreading the word is really important. If you can think of some places to put up posters, please let us know.

DATES
Session 2 Rehearsals:  Feb 3 – June 1
Break:                            March 16
Spring Concert:            June 4

SCENTS SENSITIVITIES: Just a reminder: Some of our members are very sensitive to scents. Please don’t wear perfume or other strong scents when you come to choir practice. Thanks!

See you Wednesday!
