This Wednesday: Sectionals! Please go directly to your location. Sopranos to the Sanctuary, Tenors and Bases upstairs and Altos to the Library. Extended practices continue.

DROPPING “MAKE YOUR GARDEN GROW”
Phew … we dodged that bullet. While lovely, this choral piece will take more time than we have this session, so we’ll keep it for another time.

TICKETS
Again, tickets will be available for sale before and after our practice. Remember – pre-sold tickets are $10; at the door, they are $15. ** Please see Barb’s note below – we’re down to 45 tickets left to sell. If you have taken tickets, please pay for them asap, or release them for sale **

CONCERT INFORMATION:
Some of you may be wondering how the concert works.

MAY 31: DRESS REHEARSAL
Rehearsal on the stage, not necessarily in our concert clothes. We will have the risers in place, so we can practice getting on stage and off, organizing small groups, and we’ll practice using the microphones.

JUNE 3: FINAL REHEARSAL AND WARM-UP 5:00PM
REHEARSAL BEGINS AT 5:30. Please arrive 30 minutes early so that we can gather and practice getting on stage in order.

WHAT TO WEAR:
Solid bright coloured top (not black, not white, not patterned or multi-coloured), with dark bottoms. Flat, comfortable shoes! (Remember you will be standing for an hour or more!)

WHAT TO BRING:
Binder, refreshments for after concert, snack and drink for yourself.

REFRESHMENTS
Please bring one item for the refreshment table to share with each other and all our guests. Please bring to the church kitchen already prepared (cut) on your own plate or bowl from home, properly covered with saran wrap. These can be immediately placed on the tables set up in the auditorium, ready for after the concert. Of course, you will have to remember to take your plate/bowl back home. Please bring FINGER FOODS only – nothing requiring a fork or spoon to eat. Suggestions: squares / cookies / candies / any kind of loaf / tarts / cheese & crackers / veggies / fruit / bowl of potato chips, Doritos, etc.

DOORS OPEN AT 7:00PM.

CONCERT START TIME: 7:30PM, ends at about 8:30.

AFTER CONCERT:

RETURN BINDERS
Immediately after the concert, please return your binders to Alain Carriere at the back of the hall.

RECEPTION IN GYM:
We will enjoy refreshments with friends and family for about a half-hour. Then we clean up, close the church

POST-CONCERT PARTY AT MARTINA’S
Martina Preece has once again graciously offered to host the after party at her home at 125 Riverview Drive. Snacks and bevvies are appreciated. Friends and family welcome.

JUNE 14: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND TOWN HALL MEETING
We will have snacks and drinks, review the Guelph Community Singers Financial Report, and review the session. All members welcome.

CONCERT TICKETS
Tickets are selling like hotcakes!!!! I will be at the church at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 17th & 18th. Please contact me, moldenhauer.b@sympatico.ca, I am happy to set tickets aside and have them with me on Wednesday.

Little Reminders:
-If you have pre-ordered tickets, please pick them up.
-If you picked up tickets to sell to friends and family, please return payment and/or unsold tickets as soon as you can.

CONCERT VOLUNTEERS:
Thank you so much to all those who signed my volunteer sheets last week! I will e-mail each of you a little “job description” of your post within the next couple days.
The very prestigious position of “KITCHEN TEAM LEADER” is still available. Will you be that lucky person?? If you have ever worked in a church kitchen, or even been in a church kitchen, you will be perfect! I am happy to meet with you and will ensure you know all about the job. Please, please, please………..

SOCIAL STUFF
MAY 27: ROYAL CITY ROLLER GIRLS HOME OPENER
GCS member Sarah Robertson says: I’m part of Guelph’s roller derby league, the Royal City Roller Girls, and we are hosting our first tournament in a few weeks. Our travel teams will both be playing and we have teams from across Canada scheduled to play. The full schedule is on the Facebook event; doors open at 5 on Friday with the first game starting at 6, and doors open at 9 am on Saturday with the first game starting at 10. Also our home opener is May 27 at Centennial arena; our home teams and our farm team will be playing that night. Like our Facebook page to get more info as events happen.

SOS Concert June 17th 2017 Rockwood
Open call to rehearsals on Sunday May 28th at 3pm – 4.30pm, June 4th and June 11th same time at Rockwood United Church 119 Harris Street Rockwood. We will be singing Oh Canada, Imagine, This Land is Our Land, We Will Rock You and All you Need Is Love. Please extend the invitation to anyone who is interested in joining more at www.gersp.ca

You’re all welcome to join us after choir for a cuppa tea or your bevvie of choice at the Pennywhistle. We enjoy talking about what we’re singing, and of course it’s always fun to make new friends.

REMINDERS:

Trinity United is trying to manage cleaning costs. If you feel you must use the parking lot entrance, please remove your shoes at the door.
No boots in the Sanctuary!
Don’t forget to bring slippers or shoes!
Be Scent Savvy:
Some of us are very sensitive to scents. This can include hair spray, body lotion, and other scented products. Because you wear it all the time, you may not even realize that your scent is affecting others. Please give a thought to the products you wear, and please don’t wear scents to our practices. Thank you!!
