Weekly Warm-up (V151214)

Last week, we sang:

- I beheld her beautiful as a dove
- Dancing Dancing River
- The Mi’kmaq Song
Kaitlyn remembers us doing the Miqmak Song in her first season of GCS. Kaitlyn writes: “This video was uploaded spring 2012. This was from the winter concert when Laura was conductor. I sang the chant with two other people in this video. You’ll see where the two flashlights are, we were standing there. Sorry the video is dark. That’s what the crew decided for that concert I guess. Thought you’d like to pass it along and give everyone an idea what the song will sound like once we put it together :-)”
And a propos of past performances, has anyone seen the movie Boy Choir with Dustin Hoffman? At one point, the boy lead Garrett Wareing sings Niska Banja.
Seeking Helpers for Performances!
Do you have a partner who would enjoy selling 50/50 tickets, counting the cash and taking tickets at the door? We need four or five supporters who wouldn’t mind helping out. Volunteer lists will be at the Baptist Church on Wednesday.
Tickets for Stocking Stuffers
Tickets will be available to buy THIS WEEK for stocking stuffers. Remember, this is our last Choir practice before Christmas.
Social Notes from Lorna
Unfortunately, Lorna needs to take a break from her role as social director for our Choir. She has been waiting for 18 months for neck surgery and it has finally been scheduled for January 4, so sadly Lorna will be out of commission for at least two months, and will likely miss the concert too. She hopes to join us this week. If anyone would like to help out by organizing socials until end of February, just let me know.
