What are you listening to?

I’ve been listening to old Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Crosby Stills & Nash tunes as I am painting the upstairs apartment (If you know of anyone looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in Downtown area let me know) and maybe I’m feeling nostalgic, but I feel like these are the anchors of my early years. One of Joni’s lesser known songs is Shadows and Light, from her album ‘The Hissing of Summer Lawns’. It’s acappella and has some wonderful harmonies. Lorna Rourke shared her family’s favourite Christmas music: Sufjan Stevens’ two boxed sets of Christmas music. One is called “Songs for Christmas” and the other “Silver and Gold”–both have 5 CDs. One of Lorna’s favourites from the collection is “The Friendly Beasts”–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMeXfQJXM5w

Social Notes from Lorna:

For those who have signed up: we’re meeting for our pre-practice dinner this Wednesday December 2 at Baker Street Station, 76 Baker Street, at 5:45 p.m. Lise tells me they have excellent wine, so I’m looking forward to that! We have room for one more at our table, so email me asap if you’d like to join us — rourke.lorna@gmail.com.
