GCS Music Reading Workshop Time correction and Social Stuff!!

Posted October 16, 2017

Hey my singing friends,

Oops – I noted the Music Reading Workshop time incorrectly. It starts at 6:30 and goes to 7:30. Door will be open by 6:15.

SOCIAL STUFF
The GCS Social Committee (comprised of Kathleen Stepec, Kim Barton, Emilie Mossman, Jennifer Farrow, and Sophie Schneider) have been discussing a few events that we can plan for the near future. Here is their first call-out:

Shrek The Musical is playing at the River Run from November 22nd to the 26th. We thought this would be a great social event for choir members. We have contacted the River Run and have three centre rows on hold for the Saturday, November 25th show @ 7:30pm. That is a total of 42 seats. If interest is more, we can reserve more.

We will need to pay for seats by October 25th at the latest, so we will need to get the word out soon. Our last practice before that date is on Monday, October 23rd at GMYC, so that is when people will need to confirm and pay by. We will not be paying for any seats in advance for people. Obviously the sooner people can sign-up and pay, the better. We can have a sign-up sheet available starting on Wednesday.

Ticket prices are as follows:
$34.20 Adult
$31.50 Senior/Student
$20.70 Child 14 & Under

Another event we would like to plan is an “after party” for the Canada 150 concert. We thought we could look at having this at a venue downtown, either a pub or restaurant. Location to be determined. Suggestions welcome!
