GCS Weekly Warmup (022617)

Posted February 27, 2017

Hello my singing friends!

Rachel found these videos for you. They will help you get a feel for the pieces we’re learning.

Wicked (Choral Highlights) (SATB) – Mark Brymer

NEMFA 2012 – Make Our Garden Grow Leonard Bernstein

‘Hallelujah’ performed by Singing Out

Collage Dokkum, Your Song arr. Mac Huff

What we’re singing next:
Defying Gravity
No One mourns (cont)
Your song
O siem
Seasons of love
For good

Why we alternate songs week to week:
Last session, we had great success with Rachel’s new method of alternating pieces. We don’t want to overwhelm you, and studies show that repetition in the early stages really helps us remember the pieces. So we will be alternating and adding pieces as we go along.

Missing music?
Thank you for your patience! Extra copies are back-ordered, and on the way.

Practice Tracks
Some of the pieces are already up on our website. You can listen to them there, or you can download them to your smart phone and listen to them in the car! Click on The password is ‘gcs’.

Music Reading Workshops
Need help reading music? We will have another music reading workshop this coming Wednesday March 1. Grace (our accompanist) will be holding the workshop in the Sanctuary from 7 to 7:30.

Please use the Balsam Street Entrance
Trinity United is trying to manage cleaning costs. If you feel you must use the parking lot entrance, please remove your shoes at the door.

No boots in the Sanctuary!
Don’t forget to bring slippers or shoes!

Be Scent Savvy:
Some of us are very sensitive to scents. This can include hair spray, body lotion, and other scented products. Because you wear it all the time, you may not even realize that your scent is affecting others. Please give a thought to the products you wear, and please don’t wear scents to our practices. Thank you!!
